Showcase Your Brand
Did you know that your website can have a big impact on your business? Google warns that 61% of users are unlikely to return to a website if they have trouble accessing it (especially on mobile), and 40% will visit a competitor’s site instead.
An unoptimized website can not only damage your reputation, but also result in the loss of potential customers. To keep your audience engaged, it’s important to ensure that your website is fully-functional — at a glance, this means a site that’s mobile-friendly, ADA compliant, relevant to your brand, up-to-date and easy to navigate.
Now let’s take a peek at this week’s top social media updates for the month of August:
Threads
- Threads has rolled out a new web app so users can view the platform on desktop after logging in
- Voice notes are currently under development
- The ability to share comments from posts or Reels to your IG story is in the works
- The platform is introducing the ability to add music to post carousels, co-author feed posts with friends and invite followers to join in on Reels prompts or challenges you create
- Audio clips for notes are currently undergoing testing
Twitter (X)
- A $250 ad credit is available for any SMB who spends $1,000 on ads over the next month
- Now in beta, verified organizations will now have the ability to list available jobs on their profile
- The platform implements changes to link previews on timelines
TikTok
- AI-generated content now requires tags or it will risk removal
- Users creating sponsored posts will now receive a prompt for brand partnership tags
Make Your Website Stand Out
While you may think that you could just ask your college-aged nephew to throw together a website for you on Wix (please don’t do this), there’s a lot more that should go into it.
A website isn’t just uploading some pretty pictures and a little bit of copy on a page and calling it a day. It requires a strategic design that guides a user’s eyes down the page, mobile accessibility and SEO optimization.
The Smirk team strives to take your website to the next level while keeping all of these key elements in mind. Chat with a Smirk team member today to see where your website currently stands.
