Situation

The League of Women Voters (LWV) is a nonpartisan organization that advocates for the fundamental right to vote for all people regardless of age, race, ethnicity, gender or political party. LWV partnered with Smirk to encourage eligible Oklahomans aged 18-34 to register to vote in the 2022 Oklahoma Primary and General Elections by establishing a new slogan/brand and raising awareness through digital efforts.

Solution

To achieve LWV’s objectives, Smirk executed a comprehensive campaign that involved organic and paid efforts across Meta and Twitter, extensive influencer outreach, photo shoots, graphic creation, original copywriting and slogan and branding development. This included the development of the campaign slogan “Grab Your Future By The Ballot”. Our team paired original stylized graphics and images from an influencer photoshoot the Smirk team organized with targeted copy to craft paid and organic copy.

Results

Over this 9-month campaign, Smirk published 145 organic posts and 73 ads across Facebook, Instagram and Twitter for LWV, resulting in a sizable increase in engagement for the brand. Influencers also created and shared branded content urging their own audiences to participate in the upcoming election. Several leagues outside Oklahoma also expressed interest in the slogan and shared their posts with their own audiences.
