    Mike is the founder and smirk behind Smirk New Media. He utilizes decades of marketing, PR and journalism experience to help connect brands with their audience online through comprehensive strategies and high quality content. 


    In the Summer of 2010, after more than 15 years in the trenches of journalism and public relations, Mike founded Smirk New Media, turning his future over to the world of the web. Why? As he’s said at speeches around the country, Mike believes online platforms and social media are the greatest tools for people to connect with one another and for companies to connect with their customers. Before Smirk New Media, Mike has done a few other things: managing web content for Oklahoma’s biggest website, introducing clients at the state’s biggest PR firm to social media, helping plan coverage of three national championship football games, enraging George Lucas, cheering for the Thunder, spreading the Good News, leading Cub Scouts and raising three future rock stars with the greatest woman in the world.

    As Smirk’s managing owner, she leads the team of strategists, overseeing day-to-day operations and strategic development for all clients.


    Allie Carrick is a seven-year veteran of Smirk, joining in the first year of the company. She served as managing director before being promoted to president and managing partner in May 2017. As Smirk’s managing owner, she leads the team of strategists, overseeing day-to-day operations and strategic development for all clients. Under her leadership, Smirk has expanded its brand portfolio and elevated execution across its clientele.

    Allie is a creative and award-winning marketing professional with a proven ability to develop and execute multi-platform marketing campaigns that drive brand image, increase awareness, generate consumer loyalty and follower growth. Allie studied public relations at Oklahoma Christian University. She is also a past president of Oklahoma City Social, the local professional group for digital marketers.

    Allie is a Des Moines, Iowa, native. When she's not hustling for Smirk, you can find her traveling the world, seeing the latest blockbuster on opening weekend or playing with her dog, Dolly.

    Kevin develops and implements high-quality social media strategies for Smirk's clients. Kevin is also founder of Fieldhouse Media, an award-winning firm that helps student-athletes, coaches and athletic departments use social media well.


    Kevin Deshazo serves as a Senior Strategist on the Smirk New Media team, developing and implementing high-quality social media strategies for our clients. With a passion for people, social media allowed Kevin to quickly establish himself as a connector in OKC. You can often find him in local coffee shops meeting up with new friends, figuring out ways to help them or directing them to somebody that can. He’s a bit obsessed with coffee, really. Buy him a good cup and you’ve got a friend for life. Kevin is also founder of Fieldhouse Media, where he works with high school and collegiate athletic programs, educating coaches & student-athletes on using social media in a positive way. Before launching his own business, Kevin worked in the healthcare staffing industry, serving in various leadership roles for a Forbes Top 100 Company to Work For. Kevin has a BS in Management Information Systems from Oklahoma State University and an MBA from Oklahoma Baptist University. Kevin lives in Oklahoma City with his wife, Megan, and sons Gabe and Noah.

He has over a decade of experience in social media and business development in Oklahoma and beyond. Lennon contributes to Smirk’s overall vision, strategy, and growth. He also proudly served as Security Officer for his Star Trek fan club in high school.

    Kailey works closely with our strategists in all aspects of content development, including writing, research, photography and design. Her background is in social media management and customer service. An Oklahoma City native, Kailey graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 2014 with a bachelor’s in Linguistics and Spanish.

    Annie utilizes her creative vision to develop and launch innovative campaigns for her clients across web and social media platforms.


    After working with Smirk as an intern, Annie joined the team full-time in April 2017. After a running start, she's developed content and engaged fans across Oklahoma City through well-known brand accounts. Annie graduated with a degree in Advertising with a minor in Interior Design in the spring of 2017. Through her photography and design talents, she assists all Smirk clients with creative development. A native of Chicago, she loves deep dish pizza and overcast skies.

    Emily utilizes her background in content creation, search engine optimization, and social media marketing to enhance her clients' digital presence and accomplish marketing objectives.


    Emily Martinez joined the Smirk team in July 2017. As a strategist, Emily executes digital strategies that drive results for her clients. She is a goal-oriented worker who develops innovative content, winning strategies and customer services replies reaching customers across the country. Despite her native roots deep in the heart of Texas, Emily graduated with her degree in Public Relations from the University of Oklahoma. She strives to produce high-quality results promptly because she is addicted to the Food Network and spends her evenings watching "Chopped."
